Cleaning Your JBJ Nano Cube Aquarium: Simple And Fast!

0

Cleaning your aquarium is easy especially if you have a small tank. A JBJ aquarium is easier to clean than other types of tanks because of its small size, unlike larger tanks that will require longer cleaning times.

How to clean your JBJ nano cube

Cleaning your JBJ Nano cube is simple and straightforward. It is important to remember that you do not want to remove all the contents of the tank when cleaning as this will remove all the layers of beneficial bacteria that have formed on the surfaces of the contents of your tank. You should not remove all the fish as well.

When cleaning your tank, start by removing part of the water, up to 15% of the water. Removing an amount larger than this can stress your fish and create added unnecessary mess. Use the siphon to remove stuck gunk and debris from the contents of the tank. It is important to clean the bottom of the tank when doing weekly cleanings.

If you have algae growing on the surface of the JBJ Nano Cube, you should remove the algae before removing a portion of the water. Use a tank algae scraper to remove stubborn algae from the walls.

When it comes to cleaning the filters of your Nano Cube, do not remove all the filter cartridges at once, or else you’ll risk losing all your biological media. This will require you to cycle your tank again, which is something you do not want to do. Simply rinse the media under cool running water before you reintroduce it back to the system. Avoid using buckets and other containers for water that have detergent or soap residue in them as these could kill the fish. Use a siphon to put water back into the tank to reduce spilling and messing up the gravel and decorations in your tank.
