Maintaining Clean Chinchilla Cages
Chinchillas are attractive and adorable rodents usually found on damp mountain tops. They differ in characteristics and they have thick soft fur that best serves as their defence against some environmental traitors. They also necessitate for a typical environment to live in where they can grow matured and more. One of your utmost concerns is where to put or place it if you are planning to adopt one as your pet. They are hyper creatures, so you must consider the right cage to purchase and use for your adorable chinchilla pets.
Think about the size of the cage you are planning to own for your chinchilla. Remember, they love to flip around, thus the bigger cage, the better for your chinchilla. They are very active during night and they surely love to play. Also remember that your chinchillas must have their regular dust bath, if you want to have their bath inside their cage, it’s alright but be sure that there is enough space inside. The most advisable cage for your pets is cage made of wire. This kind of cage will be very advantageous for their safety but just choose a plain wire cage to prevent intoxication due to paint and any other decorations involved. Be able to determine proper spacing or distance of the wires for your chinchillas not to be damaged as they move around. You can place the cage then in a safe place in any portion of your house.
Place the cage in a portion with right ventilation and lighting. Excessive heat is harmful for them and areas that are too dark are also not good. Place them in an area where air can circulate well, making their body cool. They are sensitive animals in terms of temperature, so be wary of the type of weather for you to give their needs. You can put some packed ice or ice cubes on their cages during hot spell because that would make them lighten up despite of the heat.
Lastly, keep cleanliness in and out of their cage. Make sure to clean it from time to time after they are done eating or after they urinate. Chinchillas are not trainable animals like dogs that can do proper deposits, thus it is nice to add on some extra beddings for moisture absorption purposes at the same time to minimize the odour. You can also put on some disinfectant to avoid contamination and intoxication. Never fail to forget frequent checking of the cage floor whether it is a solid cage or a pull tray. To secure the health of your Chinchillas, maintain clean chinchilla cages!
